My name is Becca. I help teachers save time by creating engaging, high-quality curriculum.
I believe I was always meant to become a teacher.
When I was 9 years old, I started my own summer preschool called “Becca’s Bees”. With the help of my mom (who is also a teacher), I created my first units with themes like “ocean” and “farm animals”.
It was my first experience writing curriculum, and I haven’t stopped since!
In college, I studied Elementary Education. After graduating, I found my home in upper elementary.
One of my biggest struggles as a 5th grade teacher was finding the time and resources to create engaging history lessons.
I felt pushed to focus only on ELA and Math. And, all of the $$$ was going towards those subjects too.
Math and ELA are important. But so is social studies. (And that 20-year-old history textbook just wasn’t cutting it.)
So during breaks, I started creating interactive history units for my class.
I ruthlessly taxed my students’ school supplies to teach them about “taxation without representation”. We covered the classroom with “Vote for Honest Abe” campaign posters and acted out the Election of 1860.
My students were insanely engaged and I *finally* felt confident as a social studies teacher.
I began sharing my units online in 2016. Since then, they have been used by thousands of teachers (See a video of one of my lessons in action here).
I recently took a break from the classroom to work full-time changing diapers and writing lessons.
My mission is to save teachers time by creating high-quality, engaging history units. I want to help you fall in love with teaching social studies.
